Minestarters Atlas analysis
Summary
Zodiac Gold Inc. announced additional trenching results from its Todi Gold Project in Liberia, highlighted by 56m at 0.40 g/t Au in trench BBT004. These results confirm broad, continuous, near-surface gold mineralization and multiple mineralized trends, strengthening the geological model for a district-scale, shear-hosted gold system. The company plans further drilling and aims for a mineral resource estimate in Q4 2026.
Reasoning: The trenching results, particularly the 56m at 0.40 g/t Au in BBT004, demonstrate broad and continuous gold mineralization with high-grade components, significantly expanding the known footprint of the district-scale gold system at the Todi Gold Project. While some results are historical, the new data confirms and extends the geological model.
Positive factors
- Broad, continuous, near-surface mineralization
- Presence of high-grade zones within broader intercepts
- Confirmation of multiple mineralized trends
- Strengthens geological model for district-scale potential
- Robust QA/QC procedures and QP sign-off
Negative factors
- Intervals are sampled lengths, not true thicknesses
- Some highlighted results are historical re-statements

Classification and evidence
QA/QC Disclosedpositive
Release includes QA/QC disclosure — certified lab, QP sign-off, or stated methods (blanks, standards, duplicates).
Why it applies: The release details QA/QC procedures including the use of blank and duplicate samples, chain of custody, and analysis by an accredited ALS Geochemistry laboratory.
Evidence · text
“Sampling and QA/QC Procedures Following excavation, the walls of the trenches were cleaned and samples were taken at 1m intervals in channels along one wall, with care being taken to avoid contamination between samples. QA/QC procedures included the addition of blank and duplicate samples to the sample sequence, all of which returned acceptable results. All samples met the standards for chain of custody without the opportunity for third party access from Zodiac Gold's exploration camp to the Liberia Geochemical Services Inc. sample preparation laboratory in Monrovia, Liberia. Each sample was dried and then crushed to 70% passing -2mm and a representative 1kg split was taken by riffle splitting. The split was then pulverized to 85% passing -75 micron and approximately 200g was bagged and labelled, with the remainder being returned to Zodiac Gold. Analysis was performed by 50g fire assay with an atomic absorption finish (method Au-AA26) at the ALS Geochemistry laboratory in Kumasi, Ghana. ALS Geochemistry is independent of Zodiac Gold and is accredited for method Au-AA26.”
QP/CP Signedpositive · Story-specific tag
Qualified Person (QP) or Competent Person (CP) named and signed off — a member of a recognized professional association (e.g., AusIMM, SME, AIG, P.Geo) with relevant experience.
Why it applies: Tom Dowrick, Director of Exploration at Zodiac Gold, is a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101 and has reviewed and approved the technical information.
Evidence · text
“Tom Dowrick, Director of Exploration at Zodiac Gold, is a Chartered Geologist of the Geological Society of London and a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101. He has reviewed and approved the technical and scientific information contained in this release.”
Apparent Width Onlynegative
Interval given as downhole width with no true width or drill orientation — apparent width may overstate true thickness.
Why it applies: The document explicitly states that intervals are sampled lengths rather than true thicknesses, indicating that true width is not yet confirmed.
Evidence · text
“Further exploration is required to confirm the orientation of the mineralized zones and, as such, intervals are sampled lengths rather than true thicknesses.”
Cut-off Disclosedpositive · Story-specific tag
Cut-off grade used for resource reporting is clearly stated, enabling like-for-like comparison.
Why it applies: The cut-off grade for significant intersections is clearly stated as 0.1 g/t Au with specific minimum length and maximum internal dilution rules.
Evidence · text
“Note that significant intersections have been determined as intervals above 0.1 g/t Au with a minimum length of 2m and a maximum of 2m of consecutive samples below 0.1 g/t Au.”
Orogenic Depositneutral · Story-specific tag
No canonical definition is currently available.
Why it applies: The document describes the deposit as an 'economically significant orogenic deposit'.
Evidence · text
“economically significant orogenic deposits”
District-Scale Potentialpositive · Story-specific tag
No canonical definition is currently available.
Why it applies: The company emphasizes the 'district-scale' nature of the gold system, extending over a 16km corridor with multiple mineralized trends.
Evidence · text
“Zodiac Gold Expands District-Scale Gold System at Ben Ben with Trench Result of 56m at 0.40 g/t Au and Multiple Mineralized Trends”
Step-Out Extensionpositive
Mineralization extended beyond the previously known limit.
Why it applies: The trenching on the northern trend extends mineralization beyond previously focused areas, with the northern trend extending over 7.5km.
Evidence · text
“the northern trend extends over 7.5km to the Youth Camp target to the southeast.”
Stale Data Re-releasenegative
Historical results re-announced with no new assays or reinterpretation — low genuine novelty.
Why it applies: Some of the highlighted results are explicitly stated to be from '2025 trenching' and refer to a news release dated December 1, 2025.
Evidence · text
“Highlighted results from the 2025 trenching on the southern trend at the Ben Ben target (see news release dated December 1, 2025 )”

How Atlas produces this analysis
Minestarters Atlas uses automated extraction to summarize mining announcements, identify reported measurements, and classify supporting evidence. Sentiment reflects the extracted narrative and classification rules; it is an interpretation, not a reported measurement. Evidence quotes and context are provided where available. Missing data, low-confidence results, and review flags indicate limitations. Check the original publisher announcement before relying on an interpretation.
