Minestarters Atlas analysis

Summary

Troilus Mining Corp. announced the first results from its Z87 optimization drill program at the Troilus Project in Quebec, Canada, reporting broad, high-grade gold equivalent intercepts. Highlights include 157.5 metres grading 0.95 g/t AuEq in hole 87-26-505 and 96 metres grading 1.10 g/t AuEq in hole 87-26-508. This drilling aims to convert inferred mineralization and previously unsampled historical intervals within the Z87 reserve pit into higher confidence categories to support future mine planning and optimize operations.

Reasoning: The drill program successfully delivered broad, economic gold equivalent intercepts aimed at upgrading inferred resources and optimizing mine planning within the Z87 reserve pit, supported by robust QA/QC and transparent reporting.

Positive factors

  • Broad, significant gold equivalent intercepts (e.g., 157.5m at 0.95 g/t AuEq, 96m at 1.10 g/t AuEq).
  • Drilling targets inferred material and previously unsampled zones within the Z87 reserve pit for resource conversion and mine planning optimization.
  • QA/QC procedures are well-documented, including certified lab and QP sign-off.
  • Metal equivalent assumptions are fully disclosed.
  • True width estimation is provided (75-90% of drilled length).

Negative factors

  • The main intercept grade (0.95 g/t AuEq) is below the 75th percentile for gold in VMS deposits, but this is offset by the exceptional width and program objective.

Low confidence — this extraction should be reviewed alongside the original source.

Facts used in scoring: 79

Classification and evidence

Infill Drillingneutral

Confirmatory drilling to raise resource confidence, not new discovery.

Why it applies: The drill program is designed to support future mine planning by targeting inferred mineralization and previously unsampled intervals for resource conversion within the Z87 reserve pit.

Evidence · text

“The ongoing Z87 optimization program is designed to support future mine planning by targeting inferred mineralization and previously unsampled intervals from historic drilling within the hangingwall of the main ore zone.”

QA/QC Disclosedpositive

Release includes QA/QC disclosure — certified lab, QP sign-off, or stated methods (blanks, standards, duplicates).

Why it applies: The release details QA/QC procedures including certified lab, standards, blanks, and various assay methods, with a Qualified Person sign-off.

Evidence · text

“Quality Assurance and Control During the drill program, one meter assay samples were taken from NQ core and sawed in half. One-half was sent for assaying at ALS Laboratory in Sudbury Ontario, a certified commercial laboratory, and the other half was retained for results, cross checks, and future reference. A strict QA/QC program was applied to all samples; which included insertion of one certified mineralized standard and one blank sample in each batch of 25 samples. Every sample was processed with standard crushing to 85% passing 75 microns on 500 g splits. Samples were assayed by one-AT (30 g) fire assay with an AA finish and if results were higher than 3.5 g/t Au, assays were redone with a gravimetric finish. For QA/QC samples, a 50 g fire assay was done. In addition to gold, ALS laboratory carried out multi-element analysis for ME-ICP61 analysis of 33 elements four acid ICP-AES.”

Metal Equivalent Transparentpositive · Story-specific tag

No canonical definition is currently available.

Why it applies: The formulas, metal prices, and recoveries used for calculating gold equivalent (AuEq) values are fully disclosed.

Evidence · text

“AuEq = Au + 1.5628 Cu +0.0128 * Ag, for J Pit AuEq = Au + 1.5107 Cu +0.0119 * Ag, for SW Pit AuEq = Au + 1.6823 Cu +0.0124 * Ag, for X22 Pit AuEq = Au + 1.5628 Cu +0.0128 * Ag. AuEq was calculated using metal prices of $1,850/oz Au; $4.25/lb Cu and $23.00/oz Ag and recoveries of 93.1% for Au, 88.9% for Ag and 89.3% for Cu in the J pit, 95.5% for Au, 98.2% for Ag and 94.7% for Cu in the 87 pit, 85.7% for Au, 85.6% for Ag and 91.5% for Cu in the SW pit and 95.5 % for Au, 98.2% for Ag and 94.7% for Cu in the X22 pit.”

True Width Disclosedpositive

Actual thickness perpendicular to structure is stated, not just downhole length.

Why it applies: The release states that true thicknesses are approximately 75% to 90% of the drilled length.

Evidence · text

“All grades are uncut, and true thicknesses are approximately 75% to 90% of drilled length.”

Tags used in scoring

QA/QC Disclosedpositive

Release includes QA/QC disclosure — certified lab, QP sign-off, or stated methods (blanks, standards, duplicates).

Why it applies: qaqc_disclosed is true

Cut-off Undisclosednegative

High-grade interval reported without stating the cut-off grade used for compositing.

Why it applies: no cutoff_grade was stated

Infill Drillingneutral

Confirmatory drilling to raise resource confidence, not new discovery.

Why it applies: drill_program_type is "resource"

How Atlas produces this analysis

Minestarters Atlas uses automated extraction to summarize mining announcements, identify reported measurements, and classify supporting evidence. Sentiment reflects the extracted narrative and classification rules; it is an interpretation, not a reported measurement. Evidence quotes and context are provided where available. Missing data, low-confidence results, and review flags indicate limitations. Check the original publisher announcement before relying on an interpretation.
