Summary
Ashley Gold Corp. reported a significant gold discovery from its Phase III drilling on the Tak Project, with hole TAK-26-16 intersecting 3.333 g/t Au over 60.00m from 24.00m downhole. This interval includes a bonanza-grade section of 229 g/t Au over 0.65m. The company states this is the best intercept in its history and represents a new discovery in an eastern step-out of the 67Z zone, significantly enhancing the project's exploration potential.
Reasoning: Ashley Gold Corp. announced a significant gold discovery in a step-out drill hole on its Tak Project, delivering the best intercept in company history with a bonanza-grade sub-interval. This result substantially exceeds previous project performance and indicates strong exploration upside.
Positive factors
- Bonanza grade intercept (229 g/t Au) significantly exceeds prior best results and indicates very high-grade mineralization.
- Long, high-grade intercept (60m at 3.333 g/t Au) is the best in company history and substantially higher than the project's average grade (0.71 g/t Au).
- The grade-thickness product (199.98 g/t·m) is significantly higher than the company's prior best (66.3 g/t·m).
- Discovery in an eastern step-out hole indicates significant exploration potential outside historic zones.
- Near-surface mineralization (starting at 24m) suggests potential for open-pit mining.
- Comprehensive QA/QC procedures, accredited laboratory, and QP sign-off provide high confidence in the results.
Negative factors
- True width of the intercept is unknown, which may overstate the actual thickness.
- Compositing cut-off grade for the main interval is not explicitly disclosed.
Low confidence — this extraction should be reviewed alongside the original source.

Classification and evidence
Bonanza Interceptpositive
Exceptionally high-grade zone, well above the deposit-type norm.
Why it applies: The intercept of 229 g/t Au over 0.65m is exceptionally high-grade, well above the deposit-type norm for gold.
Evidence · text
“Including 229 g/t Au over 0.65m at 63.15m Downhole”
Step-Out Extensionpositive
Mineralization extended beyond the previously known limit.
Why it applies: The drilling is described as a 'Drilling Discovery in Eastern Step Out of 67Z' and 'move away from historic areas as we explore the system', indicating an extension of known mineralization.

“The Company utilizes a drill rig recovering NQ core. All core is sealed in the field by the drill contractor and transported to the core logging facility. Core is then teched and logged by the Company geologist. Prior to geological logging and cutting, all core is systematically inspected and pieced back together until interlocked, depth measurements completed, RQD/Recovery measured, photographed dry and wet, and magnetic susceptibility measurements are taken. Sample intervals are then marked by grease pencil and flagged using ActLabs sample tags. QAQC check samples are inserted every tenth sample consisting of either a blank substrate material, OREAS gold certified standard, or a duplicate is done by quarter cutting the previous sample interval and submitting the other quarter material as the QAQC sample. All samples are cut using a wet saw and placed in pre-labelled sample bags pertaining to the sample interval. When a sample interval is complete, the assay card is added to the respective sample bag and the bag is securely sealed while the matching waterproof tag is permanently stapled into the core box at the end of the sample interval. Rice bags are labelled with the company name, submission batch number, range of sample numbers contained, total number of samples, and rice bag number and range. The secured sample bags are then placed into the rice bags pertaining to the range labelled on the rice bag and then securely fastened with zip ties. Rice bags are stored in a secured shipping container until Company contractors transport completed holes to ActLabs in Dryden, ON for 1A2 Au fire assay.”
Apparent Width Onlynegative
Interval given as downhole width with no true width or drill orientation — apparent width may overstate true thickness.
Why it applies: The document explicitly states that 'True thickness is unknown' for the reported intercepts.
Evidence · text
“True thickness is unknown.”
Cut-off Undisclosednegative
High-grade interval reported without stating the cut-off grade used for compositing.
Why it applies: The release reports a composite interval (60.00m at 3.333 g/t Au) but does not state the cut-off grade used for compositing.

Nearology Playneutral
Value premise rests on proximity to a known deposit rather than own results.
Why it applies: The project is positioned by its proximity to a known deposit, 'Abutting the NexGold Goliath-Gold Complex', as a key value driver.

Reasoning: This bonanza-grade sub-interval confirms the presence of extremely high-grade gold within the broader mineralized zone, significantly enhancing the overall prospectivity of the discovery.
Positive factors
- Bonanza grade (229 g/t Au) is exceptionally high and vastly exceeds the company's prior best grade (11.778 g/t Au).
- Indicates the presence of very high-grade gold mineralization within the broader intercept.
- Near-surface location adds to potential economic viability.
Negative factors
- True width of the intercept is unknown, which may overstate the actual thickness.

How Atlas produces this analysis
Minestarters Atlas uses automated extraction to summarize mining announcements, identify reported measurements, and classify supporting evidence. Sentiment reflects the extracted narrative and classification rules; it is an interpretation, not a reported measurement. Evidence quotes and context are provided where available. Missing data, low-confidence results, and review flags indicate limitations. Check the original publisher announcement before relying on an interpretation.
