Analysis by Minestarters Atlas
Minestarters Atlas analysis
Summary
Orosur Mining announced strong gold drill results from the final three infill holes at its Pepas prospect in Colombia, with assays including 104.45m at 5.96 g/t Au and a sub-interval of 15.1m at 23.59 g/t Au. These results complete the drill database for an upcoming Mineral Resource Estimate and will support a feasibility process. Additionally, the company increased its exploration land package by 65% at the Anzá project.
Reasoning: Orosur Mining reported exceptional gold drill results from infill drilling at its Pepas prospect, including a new best grade-thickness intercept, which will feed into an upcoming Mineral Resource Estimate and feasibility study. The company also significantly increased its exploration land package in Colombia.
Positive factors
- Exceptional gold grades
- Significant intercept widths
- High grade-thickness product
- Completion of infill drilling for MRE
- Initiation of feasibility process
- Increase in exploration land package
- QA/QC disclosed with certified labs and QP sign-off
Negative factors
- True width unknown
Low confidence — this extraction should be reviewed alongside the original source.
Facts used in scoring: 6

Classification and evidence
Infill Drillingneutral
Confirmatory drilling to raise resource confidence, not new discovery.
Why it applies: The document explicitly states that the drilling program was 'infill drilling at its Pepas gold prospect... with the objective of moving Pepas to a NI43-101 compliant Mineral Resource Estimate'.
Evidence · text
“The Company had taken the formal decision to commence infill drilling at its Pepas gold prospect at Anzá, with the objective of moving Pepas to a NI43-101 compliant Mineral Resource Estimate”
QA/QC Disclosedpositive
Release includes QA/QC disclosure — certified lab, QP sign-off, or stated methods (blanks, standards, duplicates).
Why it applies: The release mentions standard operating and quality assurance procedures, including 10% blanks, repeats (duplicates), and Certified Reference Materials (CRMs), and names a Qualified Person (Mr. Brad George) and certified laboratories (ALS Chemex ISO 9001, Actlabs).
Evidence · text
“The information in this news release was compiled, reviewed, verified and approved by Mr. Brad George, BSc Hons (Geology and Geophysics), MBA, Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (MAIG), CEO of Orosur Mining Inc. and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Orosur Mining Inc. staff follow standard operating and quality assurance procedures to ensure that sampling techniques and sample results meet international reporting standards. Drill core is split in half over widths that vary between 0.3m and 2m, depending upon the geological domain. One half is kept on site in the Minera Anzá core storage facility in the case of the Anza Project, or on site in temporary racks in the case of the El Pantano Project, with the other sent for assay. Industry standard QAQC protocols are put in place with approximately 10% of total submitted samples being blanks, repeats or Certified Reference Materials (CRMs). Samples for holes PEP-001 to PEP-011 were sent to the Medellin preparation facility of ALS Colombia Ltd, and then to the ISO 9001 certified ALS Chemex laboratory in Lima, Peru. Samples from PEP-012 onwards are sent to Medellin laboratory of Actlabs for preparation and fire assay, with some sample then sent to the Canadian Actlabs facility for multi element assay”
Apparent Width Onlynegative
Interval given as downhole width with no true width or drill orientation — apparent width may overstate true thickness.
Why it applies: The document explicitly states that 'Intersections are quoted as downhole thicknesses. True thicknesses are unknown.'
Evidence · text
“Intersections are quoted as downhole thicknesses. True thicknesses are unknown.”
Cut-off Disclosedpositive · Story-specific tag
Cut-off grade used for resource reporting is clearly stated, enabling like-for-like comparison.
Why it applies: The document states the lower cut-off grade used for reporting gold intersections as '0.3g/t Au over 3m'.
Evidence · text
“Gold intersections are reported using a lower cut-off of 0.3g/t Au over 3m.”
Bonanza Interceptpositive
Exceptionally high-grade zone, well above the deposit-type norm.
Why it applies: The intercept of 15.1m at 23.59 g/t Au in PEP074 is well above the exceptional threshold of 5 g/t Au for open pit mining and has an exceptional grade-thickness product of 356.8 g/t·m.

How Atlas produces this analysis
Minestarters Atlas uses automated extraction to summarize mining announcements, identify reported measurements, and classify supporting evidence. Sentiment reflects the extracted narrative and classification rules; it is an interpretation, not a reported measurement. Evidence quotes and context are provided where available. Missing data, low-confidence results, and review flags indicate limitations. Check the original publisher announcement before relying on an interpretation.
