## Minestarters Atlas summary

NorthWest Copper reported initial drill results from its 2026 exploration program at the Kwanika project in British Columbia, highlighting 41.7 metres of 1.13% copper equivalent from 72.6 metres in hole K-26-303. These first four holes successfully infilled and extended mineralization in the North Pit Extension Zone, supporting future drilling to improve geological and grade continuity. The program aims to upgrade and expand mineral resources, with further results expected from the 12,000-metre campaign.

Reasoning: Initial drill results from the 2026 program at Kwanika show significant copper-gold intercepts, including 41.7m at 1.13% CuEq from shallow depth, which is exceptional for a porphyry deposit, extending known mineralization and supporting resource upgrades.

- Positive factor: Exceptional CuEq grade for porphyry deposit \(1.13% CuEq\)

- Positive factor: Significant intercept widths \(up to 47.4m\)

- Positive factor: Shallow mineralization \(from 72.6m\)

- Positive factor: True width disclosed for all intercepts

- Positive factor: Detailed QA/QC procedures and QP sign-off

- Positive factor: Significant gold contribution to overall value

- Positive factor: Results support resource upgrade and expansion

- Negative factor: Drilling is primarily infill and extension, not new discovery

- Negative factor: PEA completion taking longer than originally anticipated

Low confidence — this extraction should be reviewed alongside the original source.

## Classification and evidence

**True Width Disclosed**

Polarity: positive

Definition: Actual thickness perpendicular to structure is stated, not just downhole length.

Why it applies: The 'True Width Est. \(m\)' column in Table 1 explicitly states the estimated true width for all reported intercepts.

Evidence · table

> True Width Est. \(m\)

**Step-Out Extension**

Polarity: positive

Definition: Mineralization extended beyond the previously known limit.

Why it applies: The document states that the program focused on 'extending mineralization' in the North Pit Extension Zone.

Evidence · text

> focused on infill drilling and extending mineralization.

**QA/QC Disclosed**

Polarity: positive

Definition: Release includes QA/QC disclosure — certified lab, QP sign-off, or stated methods \(blanks, standards, duplicates\).

Why it applies: The release includes a detailed 'Quality Assurance / Quality Control' section describing lab certifications, methods \(blanks, standards, check assays, umpire\), and QP sign-off.

Evidence · text

> Quality Assurance / Quality Control Drilling at Kwanika in 2026 was designed and supervised by NorthWest and implemented by InData Geoscience with assay QA/QC checks by Explore Geosolutions. Samples were collected, tracked and an external QA/QC program was implemented using coarse blanks and certified prepared blanks and standards to monitor analytical accuracy and precision. The samples were sealed on site and shipped to Activation Laboratories Ltd. \(“Actlabs”\) in Kamloops, BC. The laboratory’s internal quality control system complies with global certifications for quality ISO 17025. Drill core samples were analyzed using a combination of Actlabs multi-element 1F2 analysis for low level concentrations \(4-Acid Digestion, ICP-OES\) and the 8-4 Acid ICP-OES analysis for higher level concentrations \(4-Acid Digestion, ICP-OES with automatic over limits for base metals and silver\). Gold, platinum and palladium assaying was completed with 1C-OES method, using a 30-gram fire assay with ICP finish analysis. In addition, about 5% of the sample pulps are re-assayed at a secondary laboratory to confirm reproducibility and check for bias. Technical aspects of this news release have been reviewed, verified, and approved by Geoff Chinn, P.Geo., VP Business Development and Exploration for NorthWest, who is a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects.

**Infill Drilling**

Polarity: neutral

Definition: Confirmatory drilling to raise resource confidence, not new discovery.

Why it applies: The document explicitly states that the program focused on 'infill drilling' in the North Pit Extension Zone.

Evidence · text

> focused on infill drilling and extending mineralization.

## How Atlas produces this analysis

Minestarters Atlas uses automated extraction to summarize mining announcements, identify reported measurements, and classify supporting evidence. Sentiment reflects the extracted narrative and classification rules; it is an interpretation, not a reported measurement. Evidence quotes and context are provided where available. Missing data, low-confidence results, and review flags indicate limitations. Check the original publisher announcement before relying on an interpretation.
