Summary
Liberty Gold reported initial drill results from its 2026 program at the Black Pine Oxide Gold Project in Idaho, USA, which successfully extended oxide gold mineralization in the Rangefront Zone and completed resource conversion drilling in Legacy Rock Storage facilities. These results are expected to lead to resource classification upgrades for 25-35 Mt of inferred material and provide critical data for detailed engineering and mine planning. The company noted consistent mineralization above reserve cut-off in LRS facilities, though some metallurgical variability requires further analysis.
Reasoning: The initial drill results from the 2026 program are positive, demonstrating significant extensions of oxide gold mineralization and successful resource conversion drilling. These outcomes are material for advancing the Black Pine project towards detailed engineering and future resource updates, despite some metallurgical variability in LRS material and pending assays.
Positive factors
- Extension of oxide gold mineralization in the Rangefront Zone by 200m x 400m.
- Targeting resource classification upgrade for 25-35 Mt of inferred material.
- Completion of resource conversion drilling in Legacy Rock Storage facilities with consistent mineralization above reserve cut-off.
- Provides crucial inputs for detailed engineering and de-risks designs for future infrastructure.
- QA/QC procedures are disclosed, including certified lab and QP sign-off.
Negative factors
- True width is an estimate (70-100% of drilled thickness) rather than precisely stated for each intercept.
- CN/FA ratios in LRS facilities are highly variable, indicating potential metallurgical complexity requiring further analysis.
- Some assay results for the A LRS facility are still pending.

Classification and evidence
QA/QC Disclosedpositive
Release includes QA/QC disclosure — certified lab, QP sign-off, or stated methods (blanks, standards, duplicates).
Why it applies: The release includes a detailed 'QUALITY ASSURANCE – QUALITY CONTROL' section, mentioning standards, blanks, duplicates, and a certified lab.
Evidence · text
“QUALITY ASSURANCE – QUALITY CONTROL Drill composites were calculated using a cut-off of 0.10 g/t Au. Drill intersections are reported as drilled thicknesses. True widths of the mineralized intervals vary between 50% and 100% of the reported lengths due to varying drill hole orientations but are typically in the range of 70% to 90% of true width. Drill samples were assayed by ALS Limited in Reno, Nevada for gold by Fire Assay of a 30 gram (1 assay ton) charge with an AA finish, or if over 5.0 g/t Au were re-assayed and completed with a gravimetric finish. For these samples, the gravimetric data were utilized in calculating gold intersections. For any samples assaying over 0.10 parts per million an additional cyanide leach analysis is done where the sample is treated with a 0.25% NaCN solution and rolled for an hour. An aliquot of the final leach solution is then centrifuged and analyzed by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. QA/QC for all drill samples consists of the insertion and continual monitoring of numerous standards and blanks into the sample stream, and the collection of duplicate samples at random intervals within each batch. All holes are also analyzed for a 51 multi-element geochemical suite by ICP-MS. ALS Geochemistry-Reno is ISO 17025:2005 Accredited, with the Elko and Twin Falls prep lab listed on the scope of accreditation.”
Apparent Width Onlynegative
Interval given as downhole width with no true width or drill orientation — apparent width may overstate true thickness.
Why it applies: The document states that 'Results are reported as drilled thickness, true thickness is approximately 70-100% of drilled thickness' but does not provide specific true widths for individual intercepts.
Evidence · text
“Results are reported as drilled thickness, true thickness is approximately 70-100% of drilled thickness.”
Step-Out Extensionpositive
Mineralization extended beyond the previously known limit.
Why it applies: The drilling defined a '200m x 400m northern extension to the oxide gold mineralization' in the Rangefront Zone.
Evidence · text
“Rangefront Drilling defined a 200m x 400m northern extension to the oxide gold mineralization with grades above current reserve cutoff.”
Infill Drillingneutral
Confirmatory drilling to raise resource confidence, not new discovery.
Why it applies: The program included 'resource conversion drilling within the two principal Legacy Rock Storage facilities' and drilling 'at an Indicated resource spacing'.
Evidence · text
“completion of resource conversion drilling within the two principal Legacy Rock Storage facilities.”
Cut-off Disclosedpositive · Story-specific tag
Cut-off grade used for resource reporting is clearly stated, enabling like-for-like comparison.
Why it applies: The document explicitly states the cut-off grades used for reporting intervals, both 0.10 g/t Au and 0.5 g/t Au for 'including' intervals.
Evidence · text
“Drill composites were calculated using a cut-off of 0.10 g/t Au.”

Reasoning: A continuous width intercept with a weak grade for open pit, contributing to the northern extension of the Rangefront Zone.
Positive factors
- Continuous width intercept (62.5m) contributes to resource extension.
Negative factors
- Grade (0.42 g/t Au) is at the weak threshold for open pit gold deposits.

Reasoning: A moderate continuity width intercept at surface with a grade below the weak threshold, contributing to resource conversion in the LRS facilities.
Positive factors
- Moderate continuity width intercept (35.1m) at surface, contributing to resource conversion in Legacy Rock Storage facilities.
Negative factors
- Grade (0.29 g/t Au) is below the weak threshold for open pit gold deposits.

How Atlas produces this analysis
Minestarters Atlas uses automated extraction to summarize mining announcements, identify reported measurements, and classify supporting evidence. Sentiment reflects the extracted narrative and classification rules; it is an interpretation, not a reported measurement. Evidence quotes and context are provided where available. Missing data, low-confidence results, and review flags indicate limitations. Check the original publisher announcement before relying on an interpretation.
