Summary
LAURION Mineral Exploration reported assay results from two drill holes, LBX26-109 and LBX26-110, at its Ishkōday Gold and Polymetallic Project in Northwestern Ontario. Highlights include 9.90 m grading 0.563 g/t Au and 4.55 m grading 0.76% Cu and 12.29 g/t Ag, with a sub-interval of 1.70 m grading 1.56% Cu and 24.45 g/t Ag. The program aims to advance the A-Zone towards a potential maiden Mineral Resource Estimate, with unexpected deeper intervals providing new geological information.
Reasoning: The drill results include unexpected deeper polymetallic intercepts that add novelty and expand the known mineralized system, supporting future resource definition. While gold grades are modest compared to historical results, the copper and silver grades are encouraging. The program is well-supported by robust QA/QC, but the lack of true width determination is a minor drawback.
Positive factors
- Discovery of unexpected deeper polymetallic mineralization in LBX26-110, providing new geological information for follow-up.
- Polymetallic intercepts show good grades for copper and silver, and moderate for zinc, contributing to the overall mineral system understanding.
- Drill program is designed to systematically advance the A-Zone towards a potential maiden Mineral Resource Estimate, indicating progress towards resource definition.
- Comprehensive QA/QC protocols are disclosed, including QP sign-off, certified labs, and insertion of blanks, standards, and duplicates.
Negative factors
- Gold grades in the reported intercepts are generally lower than the project's historical average.
- True widths have not been determined for any of the reported intercepts, which may overstate apparent thickness.
- Some copper and zinc grades are low, indicating variability in mineralization.
Low confidence — this extraction should be reviewed alongside the original source.

QA/QC Disclosedpositive
Release includes QA/QC disclosure — certified lab, QP sign-off, or stated methods (blanks, standards, duplicates).
Why it applies: The release details comprehensive QA/QC protocols including QP sign-off, certified labs (ALS), and insertion of blanks, standards, and duplicates.
Evidence · text
“The technical contents of this press release have been reviewed and approved by Dr. Trevor Boyd, Ph.D., P.Geo., a consultant to LAURION and a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects (“NI 43-101”). Dr. Boyd is independent of the Company within the meaning of NI 43-101. Sampling and QA/QC Protocols All drill core is transported and stored inside the core logging facility located at the Ishkōday Project in Greenstone, Ontario. LAURION employs an industry standard system of external standards, blanks and duplicates for all of its sampling, in addition to the QA/QC protocol employed by the laboratory. After logging, core samples were identified and then cut in half along the core axis in the same building and then zip tied individually in plastic sample bags with a bar code. Approximately five or six of these individual bags were then stacked into a “rice” white material bag and stored on a skid for final shipment to the laboratory. All core samples were shipped to the ALS facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario, which were then prepared by ALS Global Geochemistry in Thunder Bay and analyzed by ALS Global Analytical Lab in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Samples are processed by 4-acid digestion and analyzed by fire assay on 50 g pulps and ICP-AES (Inductively Coupled Plasma – Atomic Emission Spectroscopy). Over limit analyses are reprocessed with gravimetric finish. A total of 5% blanks and 5% standards are inserted randomly within all samples. 5% of the best assay result pulps were sent for re-assays. All QA/QC results were verified, and no contamination or bias was observed.”
Apparent Width Onlynegative
Interval given as downhole width with no true width or drill orientation — apparent width may overstate true thickness.
Why it applies: The document explicitly states that 'All Core lengths are drilled thicknesses; true widths have not yet been determined.'
Evidence · text
“Note: All Core lengths are drilled thicknesses; true widths have not yet been determined.”
Cut-off Disclosedpositive · Story-specific tag
Cut-off grade used for resource reporting is clearly stated, enabling like-for-like comparison.
Why it applies: The document states that 'Intervals are calculated using a nominal cut-off'.
Evidence · text
“Intervals are calculated using a nominal cut-off and may include internal dilution;”
Step-Out Extensionpositive
Mineralization extended beyond the previously known limit.
Why it applies: LBX26-110 encountered unexpected deeper intervals, providing new geological information for potential follow-up evaluation.
Evidence · text
“In addition to intersecting the anticipated River Zone, the hole encountered a 9.90 m gold-bearing interval from 205.70 m to 215.60 m associated with silicification of a shear zone and possible disseminated pyrite, as well as a separate 6.00 m gold-bearing interval from 238.00 m to 244.00 m near the contact with the pluton. These deeper intervals were unexpected and provide new geological information for potential follow-up evaluation in the future.”
Infill Drillingneutral
Confirmatory drilling to raise resource confidence, not new discovery.
Why it applies: The 2026 Phase 1 drill program is described as including 'targeted infill, expansion and exploration drilling' to advance the A-Zone.
Evidence · text
“Through targeted infill, expansion and exploration drilling, LAURION’s 2026 Phase 1 drill program is designed to systematically advance the A-Zone, which may support the evaluation of a potential maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (“MRE”).”

How Atlas produces this analysis
Minestarters Atlas uses automated extraction to summarize mining announcements, identify reported measurements, and classify supporting evidence. Sentiment reflects the extracted narrative and classification rules; it is an interpretation, not a reported measurement. Evidence quotes and context are provided where available. Missing data, low-confidence results, and review flags indicate limitations. Check the original publisher announcement before relying on an interpretation.
