Summary
IMPACT Silver has reported high-grade zinc drill results from its ongoing underground program at the Plomosas Mine in northern Mexico, with several intercepts exceeding 20% zinc. Notable results include 3.94m at 10.38% zinc, including 1.70m at 20.95% zinc. The company indicates that the mineralization remains open for exploration and aims to expand mineral resources in the area.
Reasoning: The drill results from the Juarez Zone at the Plomosas Mine show numerous high-grade zinc intercepts, including several bonanza grades over significant true widths, indicating strong mineralization. The company explicitly states that the mineralization remains open for exploration and aims to expand mineral resources, suggesting significant upside. Comprehensive QA/QC procedures and QP sign-off bolster confidence in the results.

Classification and evidence
Bonanza Interceptpositive
Exceptionally high-grade zone, well above the deposit-type norm.
Why it applies: Multiple zinc intercepts, such as 1.0m at 30.10% Zn (UGMJ-2427), 0.60m at 20.50% Zn (UGMJ-2430), and 1.50m at 18.80% Zn (UGMJ-2541), exceed the 18% exceptional threshold for underground zinc deposits.
Evidence · table
“30.10”
Context: 1.00
True Width Disclosedpositive
Actual thickness perpendicular to structure is stated, not just downhole length.
Why it applies: The drill results table includes an 'Estimated True Width (metres)' column for all reported intercepts, providing clarity on the geometry of the mineralization.
Evidence · table
“3.94”
Context: 4.90
QA/QC Disclosedpositive
Release includes QA/QC disclosure — certified lab, QP sign-off, or stated methods (blanks, standards, duplicates).
Why it applies: The release includes a 'Quality Control/Quality Assurance' section detailing sample collection, preparation, laboratory used (ALS), accreditation (ISO/IEC 17025), and insertion of certified assay standards and blanks.
Evidence · text
“Quality Control/Quality Assurance Drill core was NTW size (5.71 cm diameter). Half core samples were collected with a rock saw and tagged for identification. All samples were securely stored at the Plomosas Mine until shipment. A total of 5% certified assay standards and 5% blanks were inserted into every sample shipment as a quality control measure. All samples were shipped to the ALS preparation laboratory in Chihuahua, Mexico, where they were fine crushed (70% passing a 2 mm screen), pulverized (85% passing a 75 micron screen) and pulp split separated for assay. These pulps were shipped to the ALS laboratory in North Vancouver, Canada, where a 10 gram split was aqua regia digested and then analyzed for 36 elements including zinc, lead and silver by ICP-AES spectrometry (ALS code ME-ICP41). Assays for base metals >1% used an overlimit ICP-AES method (ALS code OG46). ALS is an independent, international ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory.”
QP/CP Signedpositive · Story-specific tag
Qualified Person (QP) or Competent Person (CP) named and signed off — a member of a recognized professional association (e.g., AusIMM, SME, AIG, P.Geo) with relevant experience.
Why it applies: Silvia Kohler, P.Geo., a Senior Geologist employed by IMPACT Silver Corp. and a 'Qualified Person' within the meaning of NI-43101, has approved the technical information contained in this news release.
Evidence · text
“Silvia Kohler, P.Geo., a Senior Geologist employed by IMPACT Silver Corp. and a "Qualified Person" within the meaning of NI-43101, has approved the technical information contained in this news release.”
Step-Out Extensionpositive
Mineralization extended beyond the previously known limit.
Why it applies: The drilling targets the 'down dip projection of the Juarez Zone' and the 'Juarez Zone mineralization remains open for exploration in all directions', indicating an effort to extend known mineralization.
Evidence · text
“New drill intersections on the down dip projection of the Juarez Zone of the Plomosas Mine are as follows:”
Infill Drillingneutral
Confirmatory drilling to raise resource confidence, not new discovery.
Why it applies: The CEO states the aim is to 'expand mineral resources on several zones at Plomosas', which suggests infill drilling to upgrade resource confidence.
Evidence · text
“We continue to drill from surface and underground with the aim to expand mineral resources on several zones at Plomosas.”

How Atlas produces this analysis
Minestarters Atlas uses automated extraction to summarize mining announcements, identify reported measurements, and classify supporting evidence. Sentiment reflects the extracted narrative and classification rules; it is an interpretation, not a reported measurement. Evidence quotes and context are provided where available. Missing data, low-confidence results, and review flags indicate limitations. Check the original publisher announcement before relying on an interpretation.
