Summary
Great Bear Resources Ltd. reported high-grade gold intercepts from deep drilling at its Dixie Project in the Red Lake district of Ontario. The new results, including 15.57 g/t gold over 3.05 metres in hole BR-260, have doubled the drill-confirmed vertical extent of the LP Fault gold zone to approximately 800 vertical metres. This deep drilling successfully extended gold mineralization below previously weakly mineralized areas, indicating better grades and thickness at depth.
Reasoning: Great Bear's deep drilling successfully intersected high-grade gold mineralization, significantly extending the vertical extent of the LP Fault zone to 800 metres. The results include bonanza grades and demonstrate better thickness at depth, indicating strong potential for resource growth.

Classification and evidence
Step-Out Extensionpositive
Mineralization extended beyond the previously known limit.
Why it applies: Deep drilling has doubled the drill-confirmed vertical extent of the LP Fault gold zone and is described as 'large scale step-out drilling at depth'.
Evidence · text
“Deep drilling has doubled the drill-confirmed vertical extent of the LP Fault gold zone”
QA/QC Disclosedpositive
Release includes QA/QC disclosure — certified lab, QP sign-off, or stated methods (blanks, standards, duplicates).
Why it applies: The release includes a detailed 'QA/QC and Core Sampling Protocols' section, mentioning accredited labs, QP sign-off, and methods like standards, blanks, and duplicates.
Evidence · text
“QA/QC and Core Sampling Protocols Drill core is logged and sampled in a secure core storage facility located in Red Lake Ontario. Core samples from the program are cut in half, using a diamond cutting saw, and are sent to Activation Laboratories in Ontario , an accredited mineral analysis laboratory, for analysis. All samples are analysed for gold using standard Fire Assay-AA techniques. Samples returning over 10.0 g/t gold are analysed utilizing standard Fire Assay-Gravimetric methods. Pulps from approximately 5% of the gold mineralized samples are submitted for check analysis to a second lab. Selected samples are also chosen for duplicate assay from the coarse reject of the original sample. Selected samples with visible gold are also analyzed with a standard 1 kg metallic screen fire assay. Certified gold reference standards, blanks and field duplicates are routinely inserted into the sample stream, as part of Great Bear's quality control/quality assurance program (QAQC). No QAQC issues were noted with the results reported herein.”
Compositing Transparentpositive
Cut-off grade and internal dilution rules are clearly stated for reported intervals.
Why it applies: The document clearly states the cut-off grade and internal dilution rules used for calculating interval widths.
Evidence · text
“Interval widths are calculated using a 0.10 g/t gold cut-off grade with up to 3 m of internal dilution of zero grade”
Apparent Width Onlynegative
Interval given as downhole width with no true width or drill orientation — apparent width may overstate true thickness.
Why it applies: The document explicitly states that widths are drill indicated core length and true widths have not been determined.
Evidence · text
“Widths are drill indicated core length, as insufficient drilling has been undertaken to determine true widths at this time.”
Stale Data Re-releasenegative
Historical results re-announced with no new assays or reinterpretation — low genuine novelty.
Why it applies: Table 1 includes drill holes from previous news releases dated April 9, 2020 and May 4, 2020.
Evidence · text
“See news releases of April 9, 2020 and May 4, 2020 for previously reported drill holes.”
Bonanza Interceptpositive
Exceptionally high-grade zone, well above the deposit-type norm.
Why it applies: Hole BR-260 intersected 73.10 g/t gold over 0.60 metres, which is well above the exceptional threshold for orogenic gold deposits.

How Atlas produces this analysis
Minestarters Atlas uses automated extraction to summarize mining announcements, identify reported measurements, and classify supporting evidence. Sentiment reflects the extracted narrative and classification rules; it is an interpretation, not a reported measurement. Evidence quotes and context are provided where available. Missing data, low-confidence results, and review flags indicate limitations. Check the original publisher announcement before relying on an interpretation.
