Minestarters Atlas analysis
Summary
Cosigo Resources Ltd. has released new core assay results from drill hole 24TAR_DH_022 at its Taraira North property in Colombia, which was drilled for hydrogeological advancement. The results include several high-grade gold intercepts over very narrow 0.762-meter sample lengths, with a peak assay of 11.3 g/t Au. These findings contribute to the understanding of the stratigraphy and will be used for an ancillary hydrogeological study.
Reasoning: The announcement reports new gold assay results from a single drill hole, including a bonanza grade of 11.3 g/t Au. However, all reported intercepts are over very narrow 0.762 m sample lengths, and the drilling's primary purpose was hydrogeological advancement, which limits the immediate materiality for resource expansion. While a Qualified Person has reviewed the cores, detailed QA/QC methods for the reported assays are not provided.
Positive factors
- high gold grades encountered
- new drill results reported
Negative factors
- very narrow intercept lengths
- drilling primarily for hydrogeological study, not resource definition
- low grade-thickness product for all intercepts
- lack of detailed QA/QC methods for reported results
Low confidence — this extraction should be reviewed alongside the original source.

Classification and evidence
QA/QC Disclosedpositive
Release includes QA/QC disclosure — certified lab, QP sign-off, or stated methods (blanks, standards, duplicates).
Why it applies: Erik Ostensoe, P.Geo., a Qualified Person, has reviewed and approved the scientific and technical disclosure in this news release.
Evidence · text
“Erik Ostensoe, P.Geo., a geological consultant to the Company and a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed the TAR24_DH_022 cores and approves the scientific and technical disclosure in this news release.”
Bonanza Interceptpositive
Exceptionally high-grade zone, well above the deposit-type norm.
Why it applies: Sample 70 returned 11.3 g/t Au, which is well above the exceptional threshold for gold.

Context: 2.48
Apparent Width Onlynegative
Interval given as downhole width with no true width or drill orientation — apparent width may overstate true thickness.
Why it applies: The reported samples are all 76.2 cm in length, which is a very narrow apparent width, and no true width or orientation information is provided.
Evidence · text
“SAMPLE (Size 76.2 cms)”
Exploration Drillingneutral · Story-specific tag
No canonical definition is currently available.
Why it applies: The drilling was conducted for 'hydrogeological advancement drilling' and to 'understand the porosity of the stratigraphy for the ancillary hydrogeological study', indicating an exploration-stage purpose.
Evidence · text
“The company’s intent was to accomplish double this depth from a higher collar near the top of the ridge. An innovative approach u sing RC tools to pass through the uppermost, most fractured and weathered strata (anticipated to be about 8000 cms/80m) and then to switch to full core drilling was intended. The drill hole, designated 24TAR_RCDH_021, did succeed in passing through the upper, broken, 8000 cms/80m but RC drilling efforts were defeated by the following 1000 cms/10m which in part comprised sand and broken rock that appears to have flowed in from nearby historic (and unrecorded) artisanal miners’ workings. These recordings and samples will supply a substantial amount of information to understand the porosity of the stratigraphy for the ancillary hydrogeological study.”

How Atlas produces this analysis
Minestarters Atlas uses automated extraction to summarize mining announcements, identify reported measurements, and classify supporting evidence. Sentiment reflects the extracted narrative and classification rules; it is an interpretation, not a reported measurement. Evidence quotes and context are provided where available. Missing data, low-confidence results, and review flags indicate limitations. Check the original publisher announcement before relying on an interpretation.
